WHO WE ARE
Hey, I’m Prouty, creator and owner of Picture Block and the COLORSPACE motion picture vehicle.
With over 18 years in the industry, Prouty’s experience spans from producing, directing, shooting and editing everything from documentaries, digital imaging for commercials with brands like McDonalds, brand videos for companies like Nike and Proctor & Gamble, working as a dailies colorist for projects like "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World,” with Steve Carrell and Keira Knightly, and has even dedicated entire years of his life doing volunteer work shooting and creating fundraising and educational videos in places such as the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
But, is he part of the union? Yep. In 2013, Prouty joined the International Cinematographers Guild and the following year became a Certified Phantom Technician for ultra-high speed cameras.
Through gaining so much experience and fine-tuning his skills and his craft, everything he’s done has led him to where he is today.
After spending thousands of hours on set, he realized that a lone DIT cart is far too limited to monitor, ingest, and color footage at the volumes and speeds required by the most technically advanced productions, and has been obsessed with finding a better way ever since.
It was while on-set in 2017 after a "peel job" in the middle of the Salton Sea that Prouty began dreaming up a fully functional facility on wheels. And less than one year later, he ordered a custom 4x4 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 2500 and began uplifting.
